The web is about to pass away; the grid will be born

Well, do you all remember that particle accelerator that is about to be finished in Europe? Well, a new Internet was created to process all the information it will start gathering… it’s called the grid. It’s 10,000 times faster than broadband and it will enable users to download movies in a matter of 4 or 5 seconds. We will be able to communicate and use holographic imaging once the technology is finalized. The web will be obsolete. The web will be worse than dial-up!

Are you ready??? 🙂

Here is an excerpt from the article:

THE internet could soon be made obsolete. The scientists who pioneered it have now built a lightning-fast replacement capable of downloading entire feature films within seconds.

At speeds about 10,000 times faster than a typical broadband connection, “the grid” will be able to send the entire Rolling Stones back catalogue from Britain to Japan in less than two seconds.

The latest spin-off from Cern, the particle physics centre that created the web, the grid could also provide the kind of power needed to transmit holographic images; allow instant online gaming with hundreds of thousands of players; and offer high-definition video telephony for the price of a local call.

David Britton, professor of physics at Glasgow University and a leading figure in the grid project, believes grid technologies could “revolutionise” society. “With this kind of computing power, future generations will have the ability to collaborate and communicate in ways older people like me cannot even imagine,” he said.

The Destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah

Genesis 19:23-29: “The sun had risen on the earth when Lot came to Zoar. Then the Lord rained on Sodom and Gomorrah sulfur and fire from the Lord out of heaven. And he overthrew those cities, and all the valley, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and what grew on the ground. But Lot’s wife, behind him, looked back, and she became a pillar of salt.

And Abraham went early in the morning to the place where he had stood before the Lord. And he looked down toward Sodom and Gomorrah and toward all the land of the valley, and he looked and, behold, the smoke of the land went up like the smoke of a furnace.

So it was that, when God destroyed the cities of the valley, God remembered Abraham and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow when he overthrew the cities in which Lot had lived.

Well, isn’t it amazing when we discover records from the past. Read the news article here. Below is an excerpt:

A clay tablet that has baffled scientists for 150 years has been identified as a witness’s account of the asteroid suspected of being behind the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah.

Researchers who cracked the cuneiform symbols on the Planisphere tablet believe that it recorded an asteroid thought to have been more than half a mile across.

The tablet, found by Henry Layard in the remains of the library in the royal place at Nineveh in the mid-19th century, is thought to be a 700BC copy of notes made by a Sumerian astronomer watching the night sky.

He referred to the asteroid as “white stone bowl approaching” and recorded it as it “vigorously swept along”.

Using computers to recreate the night sky thousands of years ago, scientists have pinpointed his sighting to shortly before dawn on June 29 in the year 3123BC.

August 21, 2017 – Are You Ready?

Given the next full lunar eclipse in North America is happening tomorrow night, Feb. 20, 2008, are you ready for the next total solar eclipse?

For those interested in reading more, here is an introduction to solar eclipses as well as links to all the total eclipses occurring over the next several years around the world.

Just for my own records, here is a image from Google maps regarding the path of the next total solar eclipse. Enjoy!

The Car of the Future!

Well, it’s finally in the works and even out on the streets… that’s right, the car of the future is just around the corner! Within the next decade for sure!

And guess who is leading the way… CHEVY!

chevy1chevy2chevy3

Chevy has designed and built the first vehicle for average consumers that runs on water… well, actually it’s hydrogen fuel cell tanks that produce energy by fusing hydrogen and oxygen together to produce electricity for power and water vapor as its byproduct… but you get the point.  😉

FOXNews has a great article telling you all about it. So, go and read and if you live in the right area, you may even be able to sign up to drive one of these vehicles for three whole months!

Visit Chevy.com for more details on how to sign up and exactly what area of the country you need to be in to actually be able to fill up the fuel cell tanks.

Finally… we might just be moving away from reliance on petroleum fueled cars! Just give it another 5 to 10 years and the price of these Chevy SUVs might actually be affordable. I cannot wait!

Commentary on New Testament Use of Old Testament

I cannot believe that it is here! This book has been long awaited by many Christians and the day has finally arrived! 🙂

Commentary on New Testament Use of Old Testament

I hope that all of you will consider buying this book for your library and study of the Bible. If there was any one additional book you would want to bring with you to an Island, along with a Bible, this book would be it! Continue reading Commentary on New Testament Use of Old Testament

This is too cool!

‘We have broken speed of light’

By Nic Fleming, Science Correspondent

A pair of German physicists claim to have broken the speed of light – an achievement that would undermine our entire understanding of space and time.

According to Einstein’s special theory of relativity, it would require an infinite amount of energy to propel an object at more than 186,000 miles per second.

However, Dr Gunter Nimtz and Dr Alfons Stahlhofen, of the University of Koblenz, say they may have breached a key tenet of that theory.

The pair say they have conducted an experiment in which microwave photons – energetic packets of light – travelled “instantaneously” between a pair of prisms that had been moved up to 3ft apart.

Being able to travel faster than the speed of light would lead to a wide variety of bizarre consequences.

For instance, an astronaut moving faster than it would theoretically arrive at a destination before leaving.

The scientists were investigating a phenomenon called quantum tunnelling, which allows sub-atomic particles to break apparently unbreakable laws.

Dr Nimtz told New Scientist magazine: “For the time being, this is the only violation of special relativity that I know of.”

Building Stonehenge – This is one reason I’m an Engineer

This is simply an awesome testimony to the great mind that God has given mankind to understand His creation.

If you ever thought that Aliens were involved in building Stonehenge, THINK AGAIN!

God said, “Behold, they are one people, and they have all one language, and this is only the beginning of what they will do. And nothing that they propose to do will now be impossible for them. 7 Come, let us go down and there confuse their language, so that they may not understand one another’s speech.” (Gen. 11:6-7)

The modern mind, mixed with evolutionary theory, has to appeal to aliens to explain how ‘stone age’ men could build the great wonders of the earth. But for Christians, all we need to understand is the reality that mankind is made in God’s image and capable of doing anything that is really possible in this universe!

Thus, modernity proves simultaneously that is makes people as dumb as it does smart.

Enjoy the video and damn the alien theories!!!

Father Brown Fakes the Shroud

Well, I certainly want to jump on the bandwagon of explaining the Shroud of Turin. I will first state that this experiment does not disprove the Shroud as authentic. But it certainly gives the first reasonable explanation about how medieval people could have made the Shroud of Turin…

Note from web site: The first linen image [above] created by Beauchamp’s window, exposed for ten days generally parallel to the sun’s path. The linen bears a negative image, dark on light (left), which becomes positive, light on dark (right), in a true photonegative.

Here’s the first image that they tested with, creating a pirate shroud…

Note from web site: This pirate was the first image created by sunlight under painted glass. The extremely successful realism encouraged the Shroud attempts.

All of this is very good in my opinion. But that is probably because I don’t like the Shroud of Turin. =) Nevertheless, I encourage you to check out the web site they have running that explains the experiment and gives photos of all the tests and more…

Other resources for reading are as follows:

Father Brown Fakes the Shroud (the best article available written by the main culprit, N. D. Wilson, for Christianity Today)

The Shroud of Turin: Toward a Mystery Solved (a quick article by Douglas Wilson, Nathan Wilson’s father)

The Discovery Channel

This is quite amazing and hopefully informing news for everyone reading my blog before it hits nationally. This is going to get some major attention.

If you want to keep informed about this I suggest going to the ShadowShroud.com or to Dougwils.com (the Blog of Douglas Wilson wonderfully entitled BLOG and MABLOG).

If you want to order a lecture by Nathan Wilson on the Shroud Experiment then call Canon Press at 1-800-488-2034 to pre-order the CD of his presentation. I’ve already ordered it and it cost me $10 after the shipping charges.

The best part about all of this is the fact that it has been done by Christians and gives evidence against the authenticity of the Shroud. Second best is that it has been done on the roof top of a building, not in a laboratory. Scientists have not yet been able to forge a shroud that was practical for medieval scientists, or medieval people in general, to have made with the technology of that day.

Now that a person, who is not a scientist, has produced a shroud forgery with a painting, cloth, and sunlight exposure… well, I think you get the picture. = )

Even though non-Christians might claim that this is evidence against the Resurrection of Christ, they will continue to prove themselves ignorant because the resurrection never had its foundation in a stupid shroud. It is my hope that this discovery will strengthen the Church and destroy any idolatry that has been committed because of the Shroud of Turin.

This, as you can tell, is good news from my perspective and I hope you feel “in the know.” Have a great week everyone!
