Zeke the Greek Geek!

For anyone who doesn’t know… I just finished my second semester of Greek at Reformed Theological Seminary (Atlanta Campus). It has been a great year learning the language of the New Testament. So, to celebrate the completion of my second semester, I decided to let my son, Ezekiel, start learning. Now, he’s only 9 months old, but I think he’s catching on pretty fast! 🙂

And, for anyone interesting in learning Greek, this is a great book to use!

Enjoy the video!

Assault on Reason

I just couldn’t pass this up. Stephen Colbert is just too funny! You’ve got to watch this video about Knox College giving Bill Clinton an honorary doctorate. The shocking thing was when Clinton mentioned the fact that last year Knox College gave one to Colbert! And that’s where the “Assault on Reason” comes in… 😉

Enjoy!

N.T. Wright on Faith and Works

Today’s ON FAITH question is an excellent one…

What’s more important from a faith perspective? Being saved? Or doing good works?

I would like to point out Bishop N.T. Wright’s response to the question. It is an excellent answer as well as another verification that he is in fact a very orthodox Theologian. I hope you enjoy the article. I have re-posted it on this blog entry below:

NASA chief regrets remarks on global warming

Getty Photo

On May 31, 2007, “The head of NASA said he was not sure global warming was a problem and added that it would be “arrogant” to assume the world’s climate should not change in the future. Scientists called the remarks ignorant.

On June 4, 2007, “The head of NASA told scientists and engineers that he regrets airing his personal views about global warming during a recent radio interview, according to a video of the meeting obtained by The Associated Press.

NASA administrator Michael Griffin said in the closed-door meeting Monday at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena that “unfortunately, this is an issue which has become far more political than technical, and it would have been well for me to have stayed out of it.”

“All I can really do is apologize to all you guys…. I feel badly that I caused this amount of controversy over something like this,” he said.

In the end, I don’t think this guy is really a bad guy. He was simply talking about his own views on the issue and, unfortunately, got taken for a ride with the political correct science crowd. Thankfully he didn’t apologize and say he didn’t really mean it or that he didn’t know enough to have said such statements, he simply apologized for putting NASA in a controversial spot light.

I actually think that it should be refreshing to the American public (as it is to me) to know that such a high ranking official and scientist not be persuaded by the ‘junk science’ of global warming. Good for you, Michael Griffin!

And, for anyone looking for a good laugh… you can listen to Stephen Colbert’s comments on the issue (two nights in a row!). 🙂
