This initially sounds so wrong to me! But read the description.

Happy New Year!

I wish all of you a great and blessed 2008 as you seek to fulfill your calling in Christ Jesus, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. May God be with you all and may Jesus be the joy of your heart from now unto eternity!

Revelation 21 says…

1 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. 2 And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. 4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”

5 And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” 6 And he said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give from the spring of the water of life without payment. 7 The one who conquers will have this heritage, and I will be his God and he will be my son. 8 But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.”

May the start of this new year remind of the coming new creation that has already begun in the Resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth from the death! Glory to God in the highest! And may all that is good in this world proseper and all that is evil perish this new year of 2008!

In Christ and In Defense of the Faith,

Merry Christmas!

May the Lord bless you all as you celebrate the joy and wonder of the birth of His only begotten Son, full of passion, truth, and love! To God be all the glory and, on earth, may peace and happiness be upon all those with whom God is pleased because of His Son, Jesus, the Messiah!

Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God, almighty!

Satan and the Demonic Wickedness of “Human Rights”

The following is excerpted from “Catholic Activist ‘Banned for Life,’” LifeSiteNews, Dec. 13, 2007)

“The Saskatchewan Human Rights Commission’s decision to impose a ‘lifetime’ ban on a local Catholic’s freedom to publicly criticise homosexuality, was upheld this week in its entirety by Saskatchewan Court of Queens Bench. Bill Whatcott, a licensed practical nurse who lives in Saskatchewan, is a campaigner against the homosexual political movement that is sweeping the Canadian legal system. In 2006, the Saskatchewan Human Rights Commission (SHRC) ordered Whatcott to pay $17,500 Cn. to four complainants who complained that their ‘feelings’ and ‘self-respect’ were ‘injured’ by Whatcott’s pamphlets denouncing the ‘gay lifestyle’ as immoral and dangerous. Whatcott says he was fined for his pamphlets that used ‘verbatim’ a text from a classified personal advertisement in a local homosexual publication that ran, ‘Man seeking boys…. age not so relevant.’ Canadians concerned about what they see as the erosion of basic democratic freedoms are calling for a stop to the extra-judicial powers of the Human Rights Commissions in which the usual rules for due process of law do not apply. Ottawa Citizen columnist David Warren blasted the Human Rights Tribunals, calling them ‘kangaroo courts’ and ‘star chambers’ with ‘quasi-legal powers that should be offensive to the citizens of any free country… in which the defendant’s right to due process is withdrawn.’ He says, ‘They reach judgments on the basis of no fixed law,’ and, ‘the process is the punishment for simply by agreeing to hear a case, they tie up the defendant in bureaucracy and paperwork, and bleed him for the cost of lawyers, while the person who brings the complaint, however frivolous, stands to lose nothing.’ Conservatives in Canada are supporting a petition, addressed to Prime Minister Stephen Harper, to abolish or at least curtail the powers of the Human Rights Commissions. The petition to stop the Human Rights Commissions is located [here].”

The Idea of “Human Rights” is as godless as it gets these days. The very concept draws to mind images of a certain group of humans deciding whether or not another human or group of humans actually has the right to life and liberty and justice. These Human Rights Commissions continue, on a daily basis, to show themselves to be tools of Satan and tools of Humanities own wicked pride and lust for power and the desire to suppress anything that opposes their own way of life.

One day God will avenge all that has been done wrong, either now, through Jesus’ eschatological death on the cross, or in the future, through his final judgment of the hearts of men on the Last Day. But until all things are complete, let us pray that God will right these wrongs before our very eyes. Let us pray that this Human Rights Commission will have its “rights” of abuse and power mongering stripped from it and burned in the fire. It makes me so sad and angry to see what this commission has done to a man who was simply seeking to tell homosexuals that they are sinners and in need of Jesus’ saving power and love.

May God vindicate his people and may the wicked be thrown down from their lofty powers of ‘deity’ and vainglory!

The New Perspective on Paul – Now Online

For those of you interested, Mark M. Mattison, over at the Paul Page, has just published the entire, original essay by James D. G. Dunn entitled “The New Perspective on Paul” plus Dunn’s 1990 “Additional Note.” This is the key essay in the development of “The New Perspective” (the phrase that Dunn himself coined) and it is a must read for those seeking to understand the trajectory of most New Testament scholars today.

I will refer you back to a previous post I made that contains both positive and critical analysis of this movement by two very prominent men in Pauline scholarship.

Wade Burleson Censured

Critic Censured

Above you will find the link to the recent post by Christianity Today on this issue. Below you will find Wade’s response last month regarding the censure:

I Support Lottie Moon, the IMB and the SBC

I have followed this whole debacle since the first blogging incedent occured with Wade and the IMB Trustee Board. I cannot say how upset and dis-heartened I am to find out about this most recent attempt to censure Pastor Burleson. As of today, I can tell you that you should continue to support the IMB if you currently do, but that you should seriously consider protesting the action of the trustee board by letter or phone call. If the trustee board continues to affect bad policies on the IMB and it’s missionaries, I’m not sure what should be done except to say that those trustees should be gagged and bagged and tossed out for the sake of God’s Kingdom. Ultimately it is up to the SBC messenger to deal with these problems at the yearly SBC meeting. I just don’t know if that is going to happen any time soon.

Pray for the IMB Board of Trustees and pray that they will stop this non-sense!
