On May 31, 2007<\/a>, “The head of NASA said he was not sure global warming was a problem and added that it would be “arrogant”\u009d to assume the world’s climate should not change in the future. Scientists called the remarks ignorant.<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

On June 4, 2007<\/a>, “The head of NASA told scientists and engineers that he regrets airing his personal views about global warming during a recent radio interview, according to a video of the meeting obtained by The Associated Press.<\/strong><\/p>\n

NASA administrator Michael Griffin said in the closed-door meeting Monday at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena that “unfortunately, this is an issue which has become far more political than technical, and it would have been well for me to have stayed out of it.”<\/strong><\/p>\n

“All I can really do is apologize to all you guys…. I feel badly that I caused this amount of controversy over something like this,” he said.<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

In the end, I don’t think this guy is really a bad guy. He was simply talking about his own views on the issue and, unfortunately, got taken for a ride with the political correct science crowd. Thankfully he didn’t apologize and say he didn’t really mean it or that he didn’t know enough to have said such statements, he simply apologized for putting NASA in a controversial spot light.<\/p>\n

I actually think that it should be refreshing to the American public (as it is to me) to know that such a high ranking official and scientist not be persuaded by the ‘junk science’ of global warming. Good for you, Michael Griffin!<\/p>\n
