Christian-Muslim Debates

Answering Muslims has recently provided several free recording of the debates David Wood has participated in recently this year. I encourage you to take the time to watch at least one of these debates that interests you and try to learn a little bit about how Muslims think, especially in regards to Christianity. Enjoy!

Fitna, The Islamization of Europe, and America’s Future

This movie may be too disturbing for some people. I encourage you to watch it, though, because it will show you the real face of Islam that actually agrees with everything the Koran teaches. Read the verses and pay careful attention to what they are calling Muslims to do in order to serve their god, Allah. If the movie is too much, please scroll on down and read the transcript I’ve posted below.

Below is a transcript of a speech given by the creator of the film, Geert Wilders (Chairman Party for Freedom, the Netherlands), at the end of September, 2008, on the topic of Wisdom and Courage. I would highly recommend that you read through it and take to heart what he is saying about Islam and the need for Western resistance. Islam is not going away and the last thing Westerners, especially Christian Westerners, need to do is ignore what is going on in Europe and in their very own back yards. Islam will not rest until it is either defeated or the whole world is converted to or conquered by Islam. Muslims do not believe that their will be peace in the world UNTIL Shariah Law is implemented in every nation for all the people of the World.

Please read the article below and start thinking about things you can do to help stop this movement of Islamization in the Western World.

Speech at the Four Seasons, New York
September 25, 2008

Dear friends,

Thank you very much for inviting me. Great to be at the Four Seasons. I come from a country that has one season only: a rainy season that starts January 1st and ends December 31st. When we have three sunny days in a row, the government declares a national emergency. So Four Seasons, that’s new to me.

It’s great to be in New York. When I see the skyscrapers and office buildings, I think of what Ayn Rand said: “The sky over New York and the will of man made visible.” Of course. Without the Dutch you would have been nowhere, still figuring out how to buy this island from the Indians. But we are glad we did it for you. And, frankly, you did a far better job than we possibly could have done.

I come to America with a mission. All is not well in the old world. There is a tremendous danger looming, and it is very difficult to be optimistic. We might be in the final stages of the Islamization of Europe. This not only is a clear and present danger to the future of Europe itself, it is a threat to America and the sheer survival of the West. The danger I see looming is the scenario of America as the last man standing. The United States as the last bastion of Western civilization, facing an Islamic Europe. In a generation or two, the US will ask itself: who lost Europe? Patriots from around Europe risk their lives every day to prevent precisely this scenario form becoming a reality.

My short lecture consists of 4 parts.

First I will describe the situation on the ground in Europe. Then, I will say a few things about Islam. Thirdly, if you are still here, I will talk a little bit about the movie you just saw. To close I will tell you about a meeting in Jerusalem.

Islam: A Window of Opportunity

This link above will take you to a very good article from my seminary quarterly on the topic of Islam and the opportunity we have, at the present time, to engage the Muslim people in our own backyard with the Gospel. I hope that you will take the time to read it and pray about those Muslims that you know in your own area of influence. Do not take this time lightly or think that you are not qualified to share the Gospel with a Muslim. There are many free resource links (here and here) on my web site that will lead you do a better understanding of the Muslim world and what they’re all about, especially Muslims today.

It would also be nice to hear from anyone in the comments below if you have any experiences with Muslims and sharing the Gospel with them. Please leave your comments below.

Now is the time to engage the Muslim world in our backyard

Bobby Maddex on Bill Maher

From Bobby Maddex:

What a fun game, Bill. Let me give it a try:

So there are all these chemicals just kind of floating around in space. Somehow, the chemicals begin reacting against each other; they form our universe and then our planet; and then create this miraculous bowl of soup. Then get this: Out of the (non-living) soup comes a (living) cell that then turns into a fish. The fish grows some legs and eventually becomes an opossum. That opossum turns itself into a whole mess of other animals, including monkeys. These monkeys learn to stop flinging poop at each other long enough to begin walking upright, at which point they become human. The humans then have a bunch of babies who have other babies until a baby named Charles is born who argues that he knows how the world came to have babies in the first place. Some of the humans decide that they like Charles’s story better than the other stories circulating throughout society (mostly because the other stories require them to behave like humans instead of monkeys), so they dismiss the other stories. Eventually, it becomes fashionable among some humans to ridicule stories that aren’t Charles’s, whereupon a human named Bill makes a movie about how “religulous” non-Charles stories are.

Wow, that was fun and easy.

Dispatches: Undercover Mosque (The Return)

David Wood says:

Last year, hidden cameras proved that violence, intolerance, and bigotry are being preached in UK mosques–even in mosques that claim to be moderate and peaceful (click here to watch the original program). Many of the leaders who were exposed promised to clean up their mosques. “Undercover Mosque” returned recently to see whether these leaders have kept their promise. The footage shows that violence, intolerance, and bigotry are still being preached. But I’m sure Muslim leaders will promise (again) to clean up their mosques.

Knowledgeable viewers will notice how the producers of the show are doing everything in their power to convince us that these violent teachings have nothing to do with Islam. They say of some teaching, “But this is nowhere in the Qur’an,” as if we don’t know that it’s in the Hadith (the second source of Sharia). There’s a great deal of irony here. “Undercover Mosque” sets out to expose the deception of mosques that claim to be peaceful while secretly preaching violence. But the writers of the show go to liberal Muslims to learn about Islam, and these liberal Muslims completely misrepresent Islam to make it sound peaceful. So if we go to the mosques, they lie and tell us they’re preaching peace. If we go to liberal Muslims, they lie and claim that the Qur’an and Hadith promote peace and tolerance. Wherever we go, Muslims are trying to deceive us. Do you know who isn’t trying to deceive us? Osama bin Laden. You can say what you want about him, but at least we know where he stands.

Christian Converts from Islam: Landmark Decision in UK

From the ACLJ:

An immigration court of appeals in the United Kingdom has, for the first time, recognized the plight of Syrian Evangelical Christians with Muslim backgrounds seeking asylum in the United Kingdom.

In this precedent-setting victory, the European Centre for Law and Justice (the ECLJ, based in Strasbourg, France) represented the young couple (whose identity is being withheld to protect their safety) who was granted refugee status in the U.K.  The court recognized that if the couple returned to Syria – the country of origin of the husband – they would face very real physical threats, possibly resulting in their deaths.  The court granted the appeal on both asylum and human rights grounds.

The couple, former adherents of Islam, converted to Evangelical Christianity (the husband in 2003 and the wife in 2005) and thereafter became open witnesses of the Christian faith to Muslims through Internet chat rooms.

As a result of their conversion, which is deemed apostasy under Sharia law and subject to death, the couple began receiving death threats including a video of a beheading.  The husband’s family told him that if he did not return to Islam, the family would move against him and ”wash their shame” – a phrase that he was told meant he would be put to death.

In its landmark decision, the court recognized that a true commitment to Evangelical Christianity requires evangelism, and that the circumstances of such converts to Evangelicalism in the Muslim world do pose a serious threat to life.

This is a significant and groundbreaking decision that clearly puts the focus on the fact that many converts to Christianity from Islam face real danger, including the ultimate penalty of death.  This important decision will not go unnoticed in the international arena, and we’re delighted that it provides protection for Christian converts who are at great risk because of their faith and their desire to share it.

”This is truly a landmark day in the United Kingdom as a nation awakens to the ever-growing threat of radical Islam and the plight of Christians in the Middle East,” said Roger Kiska, Legal Counsel of the ECLJ.  ”I couldn’t be happier with the decision and the role that the ECLJ played in the case.”

The ECLJ worked closely with the ACLJ on this issue.  The organizations provided legal advice and support throughout the case, as well as the only key expert testimony at the hearing on the threat posed to converts from Islam in Syria.

The ACLJ also enlisted the assistance of six members of the U.S. Congress who sent a letter to the U.K. appeals court in August urging asylum for the couple.  They asked the appeals court to protect the couple, acknowledging that they ”would face severe religious persecution as a result of their conversion from Islam to Christianity.”

The letter also recognized the couple faced a ”credible threat,” and that their lives were in danger.  The letter concluded:

”….based upon the United Kingdom’s strong history of protecting religious refugees, we strongly urge the government of the United Kingdom to spare (the couple) and grant religious asylum in this case.”
